NAPBC STANDARDS
Meet Accreditation Standards with a Lymphedema Prevention Program

NAPBC Optimal Resources for Breast Care

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) Survivorship Standard emphasizes the use of evidence-based guidelines for lymphedema care.

NAPBC Standards

Survivorship Standard 5.15

The latest NABPC Standard for Survivorship, published in September 2024, specifies that NABPC-accredited programs must use evidence-based guidelines to manage survivorship. Examples include:

Use of a lymphedema prevention program, including regular symptom assessment and clinical evaluation using objective measurements, such as bioimpedance spectroscopy (BIS).

Referral to outpatient rehabilitation for evaluation and treatment of lymphedema, as needed.

Implement a Lymphedema Prevention Program

The SOZO® Digital Health Platform is the only FDA-cleared BIS solution for the clinical assessment of lymphedema. ImpediMed’s Lymphedema Prevention Program (LPP) uses SOZO with L-Dex® to help detect lymphedema in breast cancer patients at the early stage, so that it can be treated and stopped from progressing to a lifelong condition.

Implementing a LPP with the SOZO Digital Health Platform can help you meet the NAPBC Survivorship standard and help improve your patients’ quality of life.

Our team of clinical experts can partner with you to develop and implement a Lymphedema Prevention Program.

The NAPBC is a quality program through the American College of Surgeons (ACS). NAPBC-accredited programs must understand, implement, and demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards outlined in Optimal Resources for Breast Care. To maintain accreditation, centers must monitor their compliance with these standards and prepare for onsite review every three years.
